Surgery day....

I figured since I am having my surgery today, that I would post the cute pictures of Erick when he had his surgery last month.

How cute is he here with his hospital bracelet?
Gary and I put together a post surgery basket for him with toys and tasty treats for when he was recovering. I think it helped....hahahaha

He looks a little tired. Can you see how this little boy just would melt a grandma's heart? Just out of surgery and still smiles for the camera. And looks cute I might add!!!!

Heading home and happy about it. Everything went well. Thank goodness.

Giving dad some loving here.

A happy little boy headed home with his goodies.

I hope I am as happy and look as good as Erick does when I come home from my surgery today....hahahaha

I won't be such a good sport and let anyone take a picture of me though. hahahaha But then again, I'm no where near as cute as Erick is!!!!

Enough said!!!

Trampoline fun at Grandma's house

A few weeks back Nicole threw Jeff a dessert party at her parents house for his graduation from Cal State Fullerton. While we were there the grandkids had so much fun on their trampoline in their backyard.....theirs is built into the ground.

When it was time for them to leave, needless to say, they didn't want to go home.....especially Erick. So, as I was walking with him back into the house holding his hand, he says this to me, "Grandma. I really need you to get a trampoline for your house." I replied back with, "don't you want one for your house instead?" He quickly says, "No, I need it for your house." Now, first of all you have to know the sweet little voice in which he is speaking to me.....or should I say to my heart.....I melted.....and yes, I lovinly caved in to his request.

So, you can see that we now have yet another trampoline in our backyard....this time with walls. Our kids went through 3 trampolines while they were growing up. I loved them when I was a kid too.

I have for your viewing pleasure pictures of them having fun on the new trampoline in Grandma's backyard. I must add that Heather and Trevor lovingly pitched in for this purchase as well. They wanted the grandkids to be as happy as me and Gary. Thanks Heather and Trevor!!!!
Lucy joining in on the fun.

She loves it. I've put her on it without the other kids, and she doesn't like it as much. It's pretty cute to watch her try to bounce.

Girl cousin bonding time.

I think he's happy. What do you think?

Zach playing with the doggies.

I'm sure there will be many fun memories made on this trampoline. Let's just hope none of them are injuries.

Smiles and Frustrations.....

Today I have a few pictures to show some of the smiles and frustrations we experience here at the Thompson household.

First picture brings me a smile.

Last night Jeff, Nicole and Lucy came over to visit. This morning I woke up to find this cute little toy that Lucy had been playing with in the pantry. I just giggled and grabbed the camera. I have often found cars in the mixing bowls in the cupboards after Erick and Zach have been here too. It just warms this Grandma's heart to see these little treasures left behind. Now this picture, did NOT bring me a smile!!!

This is the book Heather was reading yesterday.

Lovely isn't it?

Now, I asked myself this morning, "What on earth would make a dog want to chew up a book when their bone is right there?" I guess we will never know what makes a puppy do the things they do. It makes me think of my friend Tracy's blog where her dog ate his leash. I guess there could be worse things huh?

Well that's it from here for today.

Have a wonderful day until next time.

In n Out Picnic Time

We are lucky enough to have 4 of our 5 children work at the In n Out offices. I must say that In n Out knows how to treat their associates. Every year around this time, they have a picnic. All of the In n Out trailers are there. If you love In n Out burgers.....they are even better from the trailers....if that's even possible. It's all the food you can eat.....which can be a bad thing too....hahahaha They have burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, fruit, cookies, browinies, ice cream, drinks, popcorn, and I know I'm forgetting some of the good food there. The kids get to take a guest with them, and this year Gary and I got to be 2 of the guests. It's at Wild Rivers and it was such a hot day, it was nice to cool off in the water after we ate.

Here is the adorable little Lucy with her drink.

She had a BLAST.....

Lucy having fun being thrown in the air.

A group photo.

Our In n Out Associates!!!!

Gary and Jeff being silly.

In the stroller and on our way to the water park.....

She was so cute. When she would get wet, she would clap and say yay!

I love that little bum.....

Making friends.

She has SOOOO much fun on the slides. She just wanted to keep going back and back. If she had to wait for another kid to go down, she got frustrated. She LOVED it!!!!

Then Jeff, Nicole, Amy and Lucy went in the little area where you circle around the area in some water with intertubes.

Bundled up and ready to go home.

We sure did have a good time.

Thanks In n Out for being such a great company.

We are so proud of Jeff....

Saturday, May 21, 2011 was a very happy day for our family.

Jeffrey Eugene Thompson finally acheived his goal, and graduated from Cal State Fullerton College. We are so proud of him, and all the hard work it took to get here. Him and Nicole made many sacrifices in their early years of marriage for this day to come true. I know they both feel that it was all worth it.

Here he is all smiles walking to his seat as the ceremony begins. He sure looks happy. I, was bawling like a baby as I was taking these pictures. They were happy tears, but it sure messed up my make up for the day....; )

After the ceremony is over.....waving to us with much relief.

Time for hugs.

Here he is with his very proud wife Nicole.

The proud parents.

Proud big sister Heather.

Proud little brother Trevor.

And a motivated little sister Amy, to go on and finsih her education and be our next college graduate.

The proud in laws.

And his wife, and brother in law Michael.

I couldn't help but think during the ceremony where all these people were going to find jobs? Luckily Jeff already has a good job, and another possible prospect ahead.

Good luck to all those graduates.

Good luck to you, Jeff, in your future.

We are so very proud of you and all the hard work and dedication it took for you to get to this point. I've always known as a little boy, that you were going to do something good with your life.

Go Titans. Go Class of 2011. Go Jeff Thompson!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess who's already 1????

Can you believe that a year ago, this sweet, adorable little girl blessed our lives with her presence. The year hasn't been the same. She has become the happiest, most loving little girl. We are so happy to have her in our lives, and can't wait to see what the rest of her fun life brings.

Love you Lucy.

Check back for more fun pictures from her amazing party her mother threw for her.

A day at Disneyland

We had 3 of the grandkids all last week while Rick and Ali went to Cabo for some relaxation. We decided it would be fun to take the kids to Disneyland one day so they could have some fun and relaxation....hahahaha

What a fun day we had. We also brought Lucy with us.

The girls posing. This is my favorite picture of the day. We were just finishing up lunch at the Mexican restaurant at Disneyland, and the kids posed for this adorable picture.
Haylee took a special book to get autographs from the characters. We were pleasantly surprised to find Ariel just standing there waiting for Haylee. Haylee was in heaven and I must say a little "star struck". It was cute.
The girls posing for a picture together.
Erick jumped on this car and wanted his picture taken.
At one point, Haylee and Grandma snuck away to ToonTown to get some characters autographs for her book. We waited in line for Minnie Mouse, and then Minnie had to go "potty" and left for a few minutes....we saw Goofy come out and left the line and went and got his autograph instead. Haylee was happy.

Then we went to Mickey's House to find Mickey. Isn't Haylee so cute sitting in one of Mickey's chairs in his house?
Finally, we got to Mickey and got a signature and a picture.

Then we went over to California Adventure and got an ice cream. Lucy was asleep and Zach was too little to ride Soarin over California, so Grandma stayed and hung out with them. Here is Zach enjoying the yummy ice cream cone with Grandma.

Now we're off to some other fun adventures together.
Grandma Barbara worked at Disneyland for 25 years and has been retired for 15 years. She was kind enough to go with us and sign the kids in. So, she went on some fun rides she had never been on before, like Monsters Inc.
This is what Lucy thought...hahahaha
Then we went over to A Bug's World and rode on some fun rides. Those girls sure do love their Aunt Heather.
Grandma and Lucy on Heimlich's caterpillar train ride.
I really wanted to take Zach on Autopia, so we headed back for Disneyland.

Here he is driving the car. He sure did make me giggle on this ride.
We had a great day. It truly is a magical place for little kids.

Thanks Grandma Barbara for making that day possible for us.

We loved every moment of it.
