Birthday Celebrations

Yesterday my mother in law celebrated her 81st birthday. I think she looks great for being 81, don't you? This is her with her 3 great grandchildren. For her dinner celebration we all went to Portillo's. If you've ever had a Portillo's hot dog, you know why we choose it for a birthday dinner....They are delicious!!!!!!!!! I know this sounds crazy, but I love the smell of my fingers after eating one. MMMMMmmmmmm.
They also have a to-die-for chocolate cake. Perfect for any birthday celebration. Perfect ending to a perfect meal. Afterwards we went back to her house and hung out. I got a good cuddle from Erick and was lucky enough to have the camera in my hand. I love this little boy, he makes each day a happy day.
I love this picure of Erick and Grandma.
Happy Birthday Barbara. I hope you have many more!!!!

A blast to the past....

Taylor has a new sketch...it is Friday after all. She challenges us to use cupcakes if we have them....we don't have to, put she encourages it. I thought I would try to make a masculine card. I went through my paper and stamps, and decided to go waaaayyy back. I decided to use the loads of love stamp set and the In Colors from 2006 & 2007. Remember Marigold Morning, Buckaroo Blue, True Thyme and Cranberry Crisp? Those are the colors I used. I have tons of it left and needed to clear it out. This is what I created.... I didn't put Taylor's sketch up, but you can see it here if you want to peek.
I was too tired. I went to Disneyland for about 3 hours today with my son and that can be draining.....but it sure was fun. Now, we are off to take my mother in law out to dinner. It is her 81st birthday today. Happy Birthday Grandma. We love you.

Color Throwdown Challenge

So the colors this week for the Color Throwdown Challenge were Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, and you could throw in So Saffron if you wanted to. This is what I came up with. I was going to try to combine this challenge with Taylor's challenge over at her blog...click here to see her challenge...but I sat there for too long trying to figure it out and finally gave up and decided to do two different cards instead.....
So, you know what that means. I have to go and play with more paper. I guess I don't have to.....I just want to. I'll be back to post my other creation later. Hopefully it won't take me hours to come up with a card. I want to go play at Disneyland some time today.

KWerner's 20th Color Challenge

Here we are at another KWerner's color challenge. I love the colors in the challenge this week. I have always loved pink and brown together.
Here is what I came up with. How many times do you guys change your mind while creating a card? I must have changed courses at least 4 times with this card. I'm not sure I'm totally happy with the stamping images on the card, but I was running out of time. I really like these colors and will most likely create something else again later. {not necessarily for the challenge, but for fun} I have never given the "recipe" for my cards before because I figure why???? But I will say that the light pink I used was sweet blush from papertrey ink. I also used my Polka Dot Basics stamp set from papertrey ink for the background on the chocolate chip. I love my stampin up supplies, but I also have to put a shout out for papertrey ink too. LOVE<>LOVE my polka dot basics stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday. I am off to go have lunch with my wonderful mother today. Love you mom.

A fun giveaway

I was doing my daily blog reading and came across a giveaway of some amazing prizes on vanillajoy.com. They gave away a cricut on Monday....dang it I missed that one. Anyway, if your into family fun, or creative date ideas click on the links and you can read about them there. She also has some other fun things over there. Go check it out for yourself.
I hope everyone is happy and cool. It is hot here in Anaheim, California this past week...ugh. I have had to turn the air on just to stay sane.
School starts next week for us, and I am not looking forward to it at all.

For those who don't know, I work at the local high school as an instructional assistant for the special ed. program. I have been there for over 13 years, and I used to love my job, but now I can't stand the disrespectful students. The students just aren't the same kids that they were when I started this job. Don't get me wrong, not all the students are bad, but the ones that are, make it miserable for everyone else. Oh well, what's a girl to do.....unfortunately I have to work.....someone has to support my stamping habit....ha ha ha
Have a good day, tomorrow is hump day already.....wow!!!

This crazy Blogging World.....

I have had so many mixed feelings lately about the crazy blogging world. I love it, but sometimes I feel like it comsumes too much of my time....I know some of you out there know exactly what I'm talking about....
I have "been introduced" ....I don't know how else to explain it.....to so many fun, creative, down-to-earth people through blogging and comments that are left on my blog.
I feel like these people could be my friends, and wish they would move next door.....maybe they wouldn't call the city and report that our truck blocks the sidewalk.....that is from a previous post if you don't know what I'm talking about. hee hee hee
I have found old friends that have moved away and I miss terribly. I love looking at their blogs and seeing pictures and reading stories of their lives. I still feel connected to them through their blogs, and when they comment on mine, I know they feel the same way.
Sometimes I feel like everyone just shares the "wonderful" things in their lives, and hides the boring, sad, and even mundane parts of their lives. I am included in that by the way.... But, then I read some posts of people who share their tears, and I cry with them through their blogs and feel their pain....and then keep them in my prayers. How would I know that that particular "friend" needed my prayers that day, if I didn't read her sadness on her blog that day???
I have been creatively inspired by others from their blogs and their talent, and then I run to my little creating space in the world, and try to create like they did, or similar to it at least. Then, I realize that I have been consumed by my "need" to create to the point I forget about more important things in my life. Things like reading my scriptures, writing in my journal, playing "roll" on the floor with Erick. Calling my mom on the phone and talking with her about nothing in particular if I don't want to.
Then, I blame by blog for this....HELLO ANDREA!!! I am the one that controls what I do with my time, and not this crazy blogging world.
I love blogging for the aforementioned reasons, I am just learning to have a good balance with "my world", and the "blogging world" I have joined recently.
I have no idea why I felt the need to "spill" all this into cyber space, but I did. I don't know if anyone out there can understand or even relate, but there it is for what it's worth.
To all those who are still reading this post, and those who have left comments of love and support, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to you for touching my life in a positive way. Many of you are "old" friends, and many of you I have never even met. May friendships continue to unfold in the crazy world of blogging......Now I'm going to go read my scriptures....balance remember....he he he

OCC Challenge

Our Creative Corner has a new card challenge. It was to use these 4 colors on a card. The chocolate chip was optional, but I {{Love}} chocolate, so of course I'm going to use it on my card..... This was a fun card to make.....I don't know why, it just was. I need to get more Ruby Red paper, that little flower represents the "last" of my ruby red paper....
Have a happy Saturday night....wait it's all but over....have a great Sunday everyone.

Edited to add: Does anyone recognize where I got the layout idea for this card???? It's somewhere in the stampin up catalog. I loved the layout so much, I had to give it a try. Go ahead....take a peek....see if you can find it.....

Card Cupcake Challenge {{CCC}}

At Taylored Expressions, she has a cupcake challenge every Friday. The above sketch is what we were to use for our card. The card below is what I came up with. I realized later that I got the square in the wrong place. It is supposed to be on top instead of underneath....oh well....close is good.

By the way, the cupcake in the middle is actually a sticker, not a stamp....is that cheating???? {{smiling widely}}

Have you ever had a day/week like this? I saw this and laughed so hard tears came to my eyes. I'm not having one of those days today, but I have had them and could totally relate. I just had to share. I hope it brought a smile to your face like it did mine.

KWerner Challenge #19

The above photo is the color inspiration that Kristina Werner has given us to work with this challenge.
This is the card that I came up with for the challenge. The background is heat embossed with clear ep with a stamp from "all night media".
For the soft touch of color, I used Sweet Blush from Papertrey Ink. When I finished, a part of me thought it needed something else. Then, I took another look, and decided to keep it simple and have the embossing stand out more on it. Hey, it's just a card right????

Have a great Friday everyone. Where did the week go???/

Hayden's Creations

These are the scrapbook pages that Hayden {he's 8} put together the other day. I was proud of him. He did a GREAT job!!!!! Look out ladies, he's an up-n-coming scrapbooker....hee hee

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Last night I sat and watched the Olympics and "played with paper". It was fun. I used The Creative Corner sketch for my card. You can find it by clicking here.
I've been "playing with paper" this afternoon too. Hayden came in and saw me, and was bored. He asked if he could help. I handed him some pictures, paper, and stickers and said, "Get to work". He is in there now creating, and doing a darn good job I must say. I will post his work tomorrow.
Poor kid, you know he's bored and ready for school to start when he wants to scrapbook. Although, he really seems to enjoy creating. School starts here in a little over 2 weeks. I can't believe summer has come and gone. Wow!!!!!

In-n-Out Picnic

Most people reading this blog know that I have 4 children that work for In-n-Out. They take good care of their associates {employees} and every year during summer they have a company picnic. They get to take a guest with them. Trevor took me, Amy took Hayden, and Heather took Emily. Jeff, of course, took his beautiful wife Nicole. We had a great time together. It was at Wild Rivers in Irvine with SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much food there.....oh my gosh........talk about gluttony!!!!!!! Because it was a water park, Heather, Amy and Hayden had to "lather" up with sunscreen.....gotta love those UV rays. Then off to the picnic for food. Did I mention there was a TON of food????? Oh my goodness. They had a ton of In-n-Out trailers there. We first had chili dogs, then we had an In-n-Out burger....of course....then there was brownies, and cookies, and fruit, and corn on the cob, and ice-cream, and more brownies, and ice-cream, and then we ended with another In-n-Out burger.....well, ok, I might have exaggerated just a bit there, we really didn't eat all that food....we only had the brownies once..... ha ha ha. It was all the food you could eat. Crazy!!!!
Hayden
Jeff & Nicole
Amy & Heather
Group photo....all of us
Trevor and me
Jeff and me
Nicole and me
Hayden and me
Enjoying our "first" burger....hee hee
Amy & Trevor went protein style....no bun.
Emily with her chili dog.
Jeff, Nicole, Trevor and I didn't go into the water park. When the others left to go to Wild Rivers, we went off and just hung out. When we were getting ready to leave, Jeff spotted a horseshoe game and wanted to play with Trevor. So, they did. When Trevor threw one of the "heavy and rusty" horseshoes, it took a hop and hit Jeff right on the bone of his leg. It caused a nasty cut, and bled pretty good. We had to take him to the first aid station.....He was the only one that had first aid that day....lucky us!!!
Kinda killed the moment, so when Jeff was feeling better, we left. He has to go to the doctors today and get a tetanus shot. I know he's gonna hate that. But really, all in all, it was a GREAT TIME!!!!!
Thanks Trevor for taking me along.

Pool Party at LeeLee and Danny's

On Saturday we went to my sister and brother in laws beautiful house to swim, and of course....eat. ha ha ha We had sooooo much fun. If you look real close at Erick's eye, you can see he has a black eye. We were laughing at him later because he got so cold he had blue lips. I told Rick, "He has blue lips, a black eye, and a red toe....a very colorful child."
Even Dallas got in on the action......
But....he didn't like it. Lora and Danny have two dogs, Baxter is a Boxer too. He was concerned with Dallas when he was in the water. In fact, Baxter pretty much kept on eye on everyone in the pool. He was our lifeguard.
You can see Erick swimming here. He looks like he's drowning, but he's not. ha ha ha He is like a little fish. He loved it. He is swimming from Trevor to Rick here. Tough kid.
Rick loves throwing his kids up in the air I guess.....ha ha ha. Haylee couldn't get enough of it.

On your mark, get set, GO!!!! Hayden getting ready to jump in.
Amy,Trevor and Erick just chillin'.
Haylee called this blue floaty "the bed". Everyone loved it.

Baxter watching closely.
Ooops, guess I liked this picture so much, I added it twice. Dallas tried so hard to play with Lora's dogs, but they were more interested in what was going on in the pool. Dallas found someone else to play with.....Lora's cat. Dallas didn't know what to think, the cats in our backyard run when he chases them, Lora's cat is used to dogs so he just sat there like "what do you want?" I think Dallas was amused. It was cute.
Dallas crashed and burned on the ride home. He played so hard, he was exhausted.
We really had a great time. Thanks LeeLee and Danny. Can't wait to do it again.

A day in the life at the Thompson's

I had to share this picture with you because it just brings a great big smile to my face. So, then as I was uploading this picture, I saw a bunch of other cute pictures that made me smile. I thought I would just post random pictures of my "wonderful" family that I love so much.

Haylee sees me taking pictures of my cards that I make to post on the blog. She was coloring a picture yesterday, and decided that like grandma, she needed to take a picture of it for "her blog". I had to take a picture of her taking a picture of her picture.....are you totally confused now???? ha ha ha She is all girl!!!!!!!!! Yesterday Trevor and I went to Disneyland for a little while, had to get in my fix of Toy Story ride. When we came home, this is what we found. Made my laugh and run for my camera. Everyday when Gary comes home from work, he grabs his swim trunks, and ipod and lays out for a "nap". He refers to it as "going to Hawaii". Hayden decided he would join grandpa for a little "Hawaii time". I thought it was the cutest thing. Brought a big huge smile to my face for sure. I love these boys.
These girls just always bring a smile to my face. Heather and Amy are going on a cruise in early Sept., so they have been tanning and getting ready for "the boys".....they are going with a group of 30 single LDS kids. They should have a great time. I just love them, and they make me smile.
Two of my favorite boys....I have 6 favorite boys. Erick was giving Trevor a hug and kiss for taking him for a ride in his new truck. Again, another smile on grandma's face. Love these boys.
This is an updated photo of Erick's toe. You can see it is now an open wound. The doctor said that this skin infection is becoming more and more common with children. She said they get it from public places like fast food playplaces, and playgrounds. So, if your kids play at these places, keep their shoes on them, and make them wash up afterwards. She told Ali to put 1/2 cup of bleach in their bath water each night. Intersting huh???
He is doing SO much better. Thank you to everyone out there who kept him in their prayers, that was much appreciated. By the way, this picture did NOT bring a smile to my face, I think it's gross. I just wanted to share that he is doing better.

I'm not sure who is all out there peeking into my blog, but I get at least 100 hits everyday. So, to all those out there peeking.....welcome. I hope you enjoy my ramblings and random photos. This is my family and there is nothing in the world that I love more than these people. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know you stopped by.
Have a great Saturday. We are going to my sister and brother in law's house today to go swimming. It should be a very fun day.
Until later.....TTFN.

Get a load of this....

I couldn't believe this. Okay, so I blogged yesterday about Trevor buying a new truck right???? The truck wasn't even 24 hours old, and our neighbors called the city and reported that his truck hung out into the sidewalk!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe that???? It hung over maybe 3 inches....who cares???? By the way, we live at the end of a cul-de-sac....so nobody walks on our sidewalk but us. They also called on the other neighbors on the other side of them too. They took a picture of the truck hanging out, and told us they would be back later today to make sure it was moved, and again later in the week to make sure we were still following "the rules". Talk about petty. Of course, our first reaction was shock, then anger, now we are at the point of feeling sorry for people that are so unhappy that they have to try to make others miserable. Well, if that's what they are trying to do, make us miserable, it's not going to work.
I just thought I would share our fun experience today. I have a cute picture of Haylee to post tomorrow.....so until then....TTFN.

Cupcake Sketch Challenge

This is the first time that I have participated in Taylor's cupcake challenge. I have to say that I have cupcake stamps, and knew that would be cute, but I wanted to be original....except for the sketch of course.
Daisies are my favorite flower and they make me smile, so this card idea came to mind.
You can't really see the sentiment in the picture, but it says, "You make me smile". Since daisies make me smile, I thought this was perfect for me and my card.
It's Friday, so make it a happy day.....and smile!!!!!

Kwerner Sketch Challenge

Kristina Werner who normally does Color Challenges has hurt her back, and instead has given us a sketch challenge. You can see the original sketch here. I didn't see a place for ribbon on her sketch, but I couldn't imagine one of her cards without ribbon, so I added ribbon to mine.
I think it is interesting how so many different people can take the same sketch and come up with something totally different. It's great. This is what I came up with. The fringe on the green paper kinda reminds me of a beach towel. I think I might use this again, but going with a more tropical paper....more of a Hawaiian feel. I guess because we have friends in Hawaii right now that I know are "having fun", it made me think of that. This is just a side view to see that the words are popped up with dimensionals.
Have a great day everyone.

Trevor's BIG surprise....

My silly boy Trevor went and bought himself a new truck today. He didn't tell anyone, he just did it. He traded in his '06 Toyota Tundra for an '08 Toyota Tundra, and he hardly pays anymore in his car payment. And believe it or not, his new truck gets better gas mileage. Crazy huh? He looks good in it too. This baby is a "beast". It's nice inside and roomy.
Jeff and Nicole checking out Trevor's new wheels. Trevor called Heather and said, "Stay at Jeff's house, I have a surprise." Boy, did he ever have a surprise. It will be a nice ride to Vegas next month for Cassie's wedding.

What a day....

First of all, I'm going to start with last night. There is a sweet lady in our church who just recently lost her husband to Alzheimer's. While she was at the cemetery, she fell and hit her head. She had to get 6 stitches. To make a long story short, she needs people to come in and check on her. She is also diabetic and needs to eat at certain times or she will get sick. So last night, I took her dinner and sat with her for awhile. (I'm not sharing this for brownie points, I will share why in a minute....) Then this morning I took my mother in law in to have some outpatient surgery. She is doing great and everything went well. So, to the rest of today. I came home and found 3 sweet adorable kids. Erick was feeling much better. I guess he was up all night throwing up and whining. So, I got the following cute pics of the kiddos.

Then, Ali notices Erick's toe and thinks this might be what is making him sick....I have to say that I have included a pic of his toe, and if you get squimish....don't look. So, he wasn't feeling well and came and cuddled with grandma....I didn't realize how sick he was yet, so I was loving every minute of the cuddling. Then he got even worse.
And went to this..... If anyone knows Erick, the kid does not just lay down. He is full of energy. I think he looks horrible in this picture and it just makes my heart ache. As a parent, it is hard to watch your child be sick.....it's worse for grandmas. He had a doctor's appt. at urgent care at 6:00p.m., but they left for the appt. at 4:30p.m. because they just wanted to get him there so they could see how sick he really was.
This isn't the best picture, but you can see how red and swollen it is. You can see the infection in there. We have no idea when or how he got his little owey. We didn't notice it until early afternoon. So, we are taking all the prayers we can get for this little guy.

We are still waiting for word on what the doctor has said. I have realized with the 3 experiences I have shared here in this post, that we can never take our health for granted. Take care of yourself. Be healthy.
Until further word........keep praying for him....thanks!!!!!
Edited to add: They are home and he is feeling a little bit better. The doctor drained the pus and is having it tested. She thinks it might be from playing in public playplaces. He's on antibiotics. Let's hope he doesn't throw it up now.

Color Throwdown Challenge

Okay, I have to explain this photo. When I was taking a picture of this card, the soft sky wasn't showing up, so I put a piece of pumpkin pie underneath it....wow, that did the trick. In case you can't tell, the flowers are punched out of barely banana cardstock scallop punch, and then cut to be made into flower petals. If I wasn't challenged to use the soft sky, I think I would have put it on chocolate chip instead, but this will work. This is just a close up of the flowers and the textured leaves, just ran through the crimper.
Gonna get this posted on the Color Throwdown website, and off to bed for me. I'm tired from playing so hard with the grandkids today. I love having them home again.

Monday, August 11, 2008

Yay!!!! They're home again.

Yay!! The travelers are home again. You can see they had a great time. Rick was unpacking the car when I took this picture. Aren't they cute?
Couldn't wait to get my hugs in. Gettin' my lovin' from Hayden. Later Erick crawled in my lap and said, "Grandma give me a big squeeze", so I did. Then he said, "Now I'm going to give you a BIG kiss...." and he did. This is what I've been missing. So glad they are home again.

Group HUG!!!!!!!!
There will be more pictures to come. I just had to post some now.
Until later......

Yet another card/sketch challenge....

Won't everyone "be happy"....just like the card says....when the kiddos get home and I quit posting so many cards???? ha ha ha
This is Tracy's first sketch challenge, so I thought I would join in on the fun. To go to her blog and check out her cute card and sketch click here.
Okay, so the kids should be home any minute now....getting more excited by the minute. Am I crazy to be excited about mass confusion, chaos, and messes???? Heck no, because with it comes hugs and kisses. Love it!!!!

Another Card Sketch Challenge...Ü

Yes, I found yet another card/sketch challenge. So, I figured what the heck, the kiddos aren't home yet, so....I had time to go "play". This is what I came up with. If you want to see the original sketch you can find it here.
Have a happy day.

I miss these guys!!!!!!!!!!

I miss these crazy kiddos sooo much. Rick called yesterday and said that they were staying in Vegas for the weekend. I'm really happy for them, because I know they need some alone family time....but gosh darn it, I miss these kids. Erick usually greets me every morning with a big smile, and wet slobbery kiss....the best kind.....and having Hayden and Haylee around is tons of fun too. I'm truly missing my daily dose of {{{hugs}}} and ***kisses***. They will be home tomorrow though, so then we can make up for lost time.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2....Girl's Night Out

Okay, so on many Saturday nights "the boys" at our house....and all their friends, have what they call the "men den"! It's where they order a fight on T.V., some pizza and just hang out together and scream and yell at the T.V. and they have a great time. Well, last night, the women of the house decided they didn't want to hear all the yelling and screaming from the "men den". So. we had a girl's night out instead. Amy had a wedding reception to go to, so she wasn't able to join us. : ( Heather and I, and Angela Irving and her mom Pat.....they live down the street.....went to dinner, Golden Spoon, and then to see "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2". Nicole joined us at the movie, but wasn't able to do dinner with us. What a cute movie. I really liked it. Again, another summer movie filmed in Greece....what a beautiful place Greece is.... Wow!! As Pat Irving said, "It's the perfect movie. It makes you laugh and makes you cry." If you haven't seen it yet, plan a girl's night....you won't be disappointed.

I'm So HAPPY!!!!!!!!

I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted either Katee or Joshua to win So You Think You Can Dance.....{if you don't know who won yet and don't want to know.....don't read on....}
I am so happy that Joshua won. He seems so sincere and humble. I love the fact that he isn't trained and still danced so well. I know that there were a lot of amazing dancers on this show, but I'm so happy. I have loved watching Joshua dance from the get go. Woo Hoo!!!!
Now what will I watch on Wednesday and Thursday nights????? The fall line up needs to hurry and get here......oh wait.....that means going back to school and I'm just not ready for that yet......so I guess I will just wait.
Did I mention that I voted for Joshua over 100 times last night????? Well.....it was fun too.....ha ha ha

What's a girl to do????

I know, I know, how many card challenges can a girl do???? "As many as she finds", I say. : ) This challenge comes from CPS blog . I had to give it a try. Since my grandbabies are all on vacation, I have to take pictures of something, so I'm making cards and taking pictures of them. The grandkids will be back this weekend, and then the cards will slow down and cute faces will once again adorn my blog.....just be patient.... : )
Anyone know of any more card challenges that I haven't discovered yet???? ha ha ha

Kristina Werner Challenge #18

Yes.....another card posted for another card challenge. And boy, was this one ever a challenge. I can't tell you how many cards I started, and then threw them aside and started again. This is what I FINALLY ended up with. I always read about people saying the picture didn't turn out very well, but in real life the card looks better.....I can totally relate now, because that's how I feel about this card. Oh well. It is what it is!! Have a great day everyone.

Color Throwdown Challenge....again Ü

I have been "playing with paper" the last two days, and loving every minute of it. So, I just love an excuse to go "play". That's why I just had to take on the Color Throwdown Challenge again. The colors they challenged us with this week were So Saffron, Wild Wasabi....so sad that's retired...,and Purely Pomogranite. This was what I came up with. In the first picture it's hard to see that the middle of the flower has a touch of yellow, so I took an up close shot. This card was super easy to make, no stamping on this one at all.
Well, now that I've gotten that out of the way for the day....I'm off to go have lunch with my mom. Every girl needs a little play date with their mommy now and then, so today is the day. See you soon mom!!!!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Yay!!!! I got to play again

I found this cute card idea on a fun blog...click here to go to the blog.
I thought they were so cute that I made two of them in different styles. They have a little surprise inside, that's why I thought they were so much fun. I showed the butterfly card on it's side, so you can see that the butterfly is 3 dimensional.

I haven't had a chance to use this stamp set yet, so I made good use of it last night. It's just a fun card and a fun stamp set....perfect match. This is the surprise inside....it's a gift card holder. How cute huh????

These were so much fun to make, I think I need to find some excuses to give out some gift cards to some friends. Anyone want a gift card???? ha ha ha
Without little ones around, and my house being so quiet ..... and lonely I might add.....I just might have to make more of these fun things.

Have a great day everyone. Hope you're all happy and healthy.

Happy Birthday Hayden

Wow!!! I can hardly believe this little guys is 8 lready. My how time flies when you're having fun. Of course it's only the children that get older....the adults still stay the same age.....right??????? Hayden saw how much fun we had on my birthday at the park, so that's what he wanted to do for his. BUT FIRST THINGS FIRST....we had to feed the boy, and he wanted In-n-Out Burger....smart boy. That was one thing he missed while up in Seattle visiting his dad, that and Del Taco.
You can see he thoroughly enjoyed his Double Double. I think he's crazy though because he doesn't like the fries.....oh darn, more for me.....oh wait, I don't need all those fries....so into the trash they went.... : (
Then off to the park for all kinds of fun and adventure. There are a lot of pictures so I'm only going to comment on some of them. I just included so many so you can see how much fun we had.

This was a weird swing. You could swing around 360 degrees. The kids freaked out at first, but when they realized how it worked, they loved it.

And of course, Haylee made some new friends. Here she is playing with them.

So, the kids were having so much fun, that the "older" children decided to join in on the fun. Why let the small kids have all the fun right???? Who cares that a sign said for ages 5-12.....fun is fun. Amy sliding. and climbing.....and smiling.. I love it.

Trevor and Rick ..... boys will be boys.
Trevor and Emily stopped long enough to pose and smile. Thanks guys.

Taking a break and playing brick breaker on their cell phones....

Even Dallas came and joined in on the fun day.
This is my all time favorite picture of the day. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick throws Erick up in the air and Erick LOVES it. He always asks Rick, "throw me higher". So Rick did, and I got it on camera......I'm always afraid he isn't going to catch him, but he always does. While Erick was in the air, he was kicking his arms and legs, it was fun to watch....and kinda scary, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture
We played games of baseball.....until all the wiffle balls were split in two.....then we played kickball. Well.....most of us did anyway. It was fun.

Dallas loved watching us play. A little sidenote....if you look really close....I'm the one in the red....I'm pulling up my pants......yes that's right.....pulling up my pants......because they don't fit me anymore because I've lost 25 pounds.......woo hoo.

Erick made friends with this little boy and borrowed his fun little scooter. You can see by the look on Erick's face.....he loved it.

This is the little boy, his name was Tanner, they had fun together.
Then Haylee joined in on the fun.
Then we went home for cake and ice-cream and the last of his presents.
He not only had birthday cake, he had a cupcake too. Here he is shoving the cupcake into his mouth.....growing boy.
Hanging out at home. Heather, Nicole and Amy.
We love Emily. She is a good friend of the family and she was nice enough to join us for Hayden's birthday celebration.
Hayden sporting his new skateboarding helmet he got for a present. He had been opening presents randomly all day. His Aunt Heather spoiled him big time with lots of Volcom brand clothes.....spoiled kid.
Haylee and Erick loved the helmet too.

Sporting his new Vans he got from Uncle Trevor. He also got another pair of Vans from Aunt Amy.....spoiled kid..... : ) Love him.
Sorry for so many pictures.....can you believe there were still others I didn't post????? I do love my camera... : ) I'm glad we had a fun day with him, because his family all left for St. George this morning and will be gone for a week......another week without Hayden.....wow. If you're still with this post, I hope you enjoyed the pics. Happy Birthday Buggy Boo, we love you.
